Indonesia was voted the best diving destination in Asia, followed by the Philippines and Thailand, according to a recent survey by digital travel platform Agoda.

Malaysia ranked fourth and Vietnam rounded out the top five, based on a survey of over 850 tourists from 11 markets across Asia.

With over 17,508 islands and situated in the heart of the coral triangle, Indonesia has long been a favorite destination of divers.

There are two seasons in Indonesia. The wet season is from October to April and the dry from May to September.

The best time to go to Indonesia is in the dry season, although visitors can dive year round.

Known for its diverse and abundant dive sites, Southeast Asia continues to attract divers with its rich marine life and breathtaking underwater landscapes, Agoda said.

The Philippines, with a coastline spanning over 36,000 kilometers, was named the best diving destination at the TripZilla Excellence Awards 2024, as voted by travel enthusiasts.
