Phuket International Airport, one of Thailand's busiest, has made it on the list of the world’s 10 most improved airports as voted by Skytrax, a British airline review and ranking site.

Located in Thalang District, around 30 kilometers from downtown Phuket, the airport ranked tenth on a list topped by Japan’s New Chitose Airport.

Newark Airport in the U.S. came in second, followed by Santiago Airport in Chile.

The list is part of the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2024, based on analysis of an airport’s change and performance improvements across many of the award categories over the previous 12 months.

Phuket Airport is a popular resort destination that attracts millions of tourists every year.

It is the third-busiest airport in Thailand in terms of passengers after Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport, both in Bangkok.
