Sa Pa, Cat Ba among most searched Vietnamese small towns by foreign tourists: Agoda

The 16-island archipelago Con Dao ranked third, followed by Ha Giang, Tam Dao, Phong Nha and Mai Chau, Agoda said based on accommodation searches made on the platform between Jan. 1 and 31, 2025.

Sa Pa, home to a population of 70,000 and Cat Ba with 45,000 people, are popular tourist destinations in northern Vietnam.

Located at an altitude of over 1,500 meters above sea level in Vietnam's northwest mountains, Sa Pa enjoys cool climate all year round and is famed for its terraced rice fields.

Cat Ba Archipelago in the northern city of Hai Phong, adjacent to world heritage site Ha Long Bay, has 367 islands, of which Cat Ba is the largest.

The island is surrounded by limestone karst mountains rising from turquoise waters that make it an ideal destination for cruise tours.
