They were followed by Hoi An and Nha Trang, Agoda said based on accommodation searches on its platform between June 6 and 24 for travel between June and August.
Data from Agoda also showed a 26% year-on-year increase in searches for Vietnamese destinations by Australians who want to escape the southern hemisphere winter.
Australia has been one of Vietnam’s 10 biggest sources of tourists, sending over 280,000 people between January and July, a 27% year-on-year increase.
The frequency of searches for accommodation in Australia by Vietnamese travelers increased by 36%.
Sydney was the most searched destination followed by Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and Brisbane.
Vietnamese carriers have recently started flights from Hanoi and HCMC to Australian cities.
