The first chartered flight from the Czech Republic carried 400 tourists to Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island in the southern province of Kien Giang on Thursday, marking the return of visitors from Eastern Europe.

Welcoming the tourists at Phu Quoc International Airport, Quang Xuan Lua, Director of the Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said that they are the first Eastern European tourists on a direct flight to arrive after a one-year promotion campaign.

The tourists will stay on Phu Quoc for a week, experiencing entertainment spots in the northern part of the island such as VinWonders Phu Quoc, Grand World Phu Quoc, and Vinpearl Safari while exploring the local tropical nature as well as Duong Dong town.

It is expected that a flight will bring tourists from Slovakia to the island by the end of this month.

There are about 100 international flights to Phu Quoc weekly, with visitors coming from more than 150 countries and territories.
