Da Nang police arrest man for stealing bag from South Korean tourist

Tran Ngoc Tuan faces charges of "stealing property," a crime punishable by up to 15 years in jail.

On July 25 Kim Hyun Young dozed off on the sidewalk on Thai Phien Street. When he woke up, he discovered his bag had disappeared.

He complained to the local police, saying his bag had contained two phones, cash worth $2,700 and personal papers.

Based on camera footage, the police identified Tuan as the suspect, recovered from him the bag with all the items still inside, and returned it to Kim.

Kim wrote a letter of appreciation to the police.
