There would have 3,900 international flights from Singapore, Thailand, South Korea and India to Da Nang during the period, according to flight schedule data from Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, the government news portal reported.
Cao Tri Dung, chairman of Da Nang Tourism Association, said the number of foreign visitors to Da Nang has been witnessing positive signs and the city would launch new flights to potential tourism markets like the Philippines, Australia and India.
"From now until the end of this year, Da Nang can expect an increasing number of tourists from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan after these markets eased Covid entry restrictions and reopened tourism," Dung said as cited by the government portal.
Since tourism reopening in March this year, the number of international visitors to Da Nang has so far reached over 200,000, exceeding this year's target of 180,000.
Da Nang is the busiest tourist city in central Vietnam, and is used as a springboard to access three worldwide famous heritage sites – Hue Imperial Capital, My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Town.
