Retail sources said Samsung initially planned to release the flagship in Vietnam before Tet but faced logistical and marketing issues, leading to the delay. This Tet will last from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2.
Though the Vietnamese holiday season is a key sales period for mobile brands, the company chose to delay the launch to minimize risks.
According to FNNews, sales will begin on Feb. 4 in select markets like the U.S. and South Korea. Vietnam will possibly follow.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi and Oppo have launched their Redmi Note 14 and Reno 13 series in time for the year-end shopping season.
The Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra, are expected to lead Samsung’s sales in Vietnam in the first half of 2025.
The Galaxy S24 dominated 2024 sales while the Galaxy Z foldable series underperformed. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, the most powerful model, is expected to feature 16GB RAM, up from the current 12GB.
Paired with a new Snapdragon chip, it aims to enhance AI capabilities and overall performance. Samsung is also anticipated to unveil a virtual reality headset to compete with Apple Vision Pro.
