Jota, 28, and his younger brother Andre Silva, 26, died in the early hours of Thursday morning while traveling in the supercar near the northern Spanish town of Zamora.
The vehicle crashed and caught fire, with wreckage at the scene showing an acid green front. Reports from the Daily Mail suggest the brothers were in a Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder, a luxury model favored by many of football’s elite. Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has also been spotted driving the same iconic supercar.
Although no longer in production, the Huracán became one of Lamborghini’s most successful models, with over 25,000 units sold globally between 2014 and 2024, The Sun reported. Prices for the Italian supercar started at $249,865 and went up to $348,773 depending on trim and options, according to Car and Driver.

The Lamborghini website describes the Evo Spyder as delivering an "extreme driving" experience, powered by a 640-horsepower naturally aspirated V10 engine that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.
"Colors, smells and sounds meld with a seductive design and ultra-light materials," the site states. "The aerodynamic lines of the super sports car, perfectly streamlined, slice through the air."
The Huracán, however, had previously been recalled over safety concerns. In September 2024, Lamborghini recalled 39 Huracán Evo Spyder vehicles in the U.S. due to a crash protection bracket that may have been installed incorrectly at its Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. In November 2023, 7,805 Huracán vehicles built between July 2014 and October 2023 were recalled for violating U.S. federal safety standards, according to Carscoops.
