Chinese actress Liu Yifei drew attention after making her first public appearance with Huawei Executive Director Yu Chengdong, who is 18 years older and rumored to be her boyfriend.

On March 24, Liu co-hosted a livestream event with Yu. She wore a white shirt and yellow dress and was seen interacting with Yu in a cheerful, friendly manner.

During the event, Yu said he hoped to better connect with younger audiences through Liu.

According to Malaysian outlet Kwongwah, Liu was recently appointed brand ambassador for Hongmeng Intelligent Driving, a smart car company where Yu serves as CEO. He is also Chairman of the Board of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solutions Business Unit.

Dating rumors between the two began when they followed each other on Weibo. Speculation grew after Liu liked a video in which Yu filled a Huawei Luxeed R7 car with yellow roses and said, "Yellow roses symbolise freedom and courage. Happy International Women’s Day."

The yellow roses quickly became linked to Liu, who is often associated with the flower due to her role in the C-drama "The Tale of Rose".

However, Liu’s fans claim the interactions were purely professional. Reports suggest Huawei signed her as ambassador for its automobile division, and she has also been seen using a Huawei smartphone.

Neither Liu nor her representatives have responded to the dating rumors. Yu, however, denied the claims in a WeChat message to Jany Hejuan Zhao, CEO of TMTPost Group. "I have never met her so far in my entire lifetime," he told Chinese media outlet Sohu, calling the speculation "totally false."

Yu Chengdong, 55, is a key figure in China’s business sector. He joined Huawei in 1993 and has held several important roles within the company.

Liu, 37, was born in China and moved to the U.S. at age 10 after her parents’ divorce. She later became a U.S. citizen but returned to China to continue her entertainment career.

She first became well-known from the 2003 TV series "The Story of a Noble Family" and has since significantly impacted both Chinese and Hollywood cinemas. In 2009, she was named one of the New Four Dan actresses, marking her as one of the top actresses in China.

Liu’s dating history includes a confirmed relationship with South Korean actor Song Seung Heon, whom she met during the production of the 2014 Chinese romantic film "The Third Way of Love". The couple went public in 2015 but announced their breakup in 2018, citing busy schedules.
