Organizers awarded 128 prizes worth more than VND1 billion (over $43,000) to runners at the 2022 VnExpress Sparkling Marathon Quy Nhon.

The full marathon was won by Le Van Tuan and Pham Thi Binh in the men’s and women’s category, respectively.

In the half marathon, the corresponding winners were Do Quoc Luat and Nguyen Thi Oanh, the latter a star runner who won three athletics gold medals at the 31st SEA Games last month.

Held Sunday morning in the central coastal town of Quy Nhon in Binh Dinh Province, the 2022 VnExpress Sparkling Marathon Quy Nhon received 10,000 registrations, making it the event’s biggest race ever.

For the full marathon (42km) and half marathon (21km) races, prizes were given to six finalists (three males and three females that arrive first, second and third) and those arriving first in the following five age groups: under 30, 31-39, 40-49, 50-59, and above 60.

The award structure for the full marathon was expanded to the top 10 for the 31-39 and 40-49 age groups.

Prizes were awarded to the top 5 in other age groups for the half marathon. In the 10km and 5km races, prizes were only awarded to the six finalists.

Runners finishing at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places of the full marathon received prizes worth VND40.4 million, VND34.3 million, and VND25.4 million, respectively. The prizes included cash and gifts.

For the half marathon, the three final prizes were worth VND18.1 million, VND16.1 million, and VND12 million respectively.

The 10 and five km races for both men and women carried cash prizes of VND6.5 million, VND4 million and VND3 million; and VND5.5 million, VND3 million and VND2 million, respectively.
