VnExpress Marathon Hue has new champions

Nguyen Van Lai won the men’s 42-kilometer distance that he finished in nearly 2 hours and 32 minutes, surpassing VM Hue 2022 champion Bui The Anh who finished in 2 hours and 34 minutes.

Lai won the VM Hue 2022 half marathon in 1 hour and 10 minutes.

The champion of female's 42km distance on Sunday, Pham Thi Binh, is a familiar face in the VnExpress Marathon system. She finished the full marathon in 3 hours and 5 minutes, and never fell into second place in the entirety of the race. She previously won the VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon 2022 in 2 hours 58 minutes.

Binh said VnExpress Marathon system creates opportunities for professional athletes to improve their performance and promotes the running movement in Vietnam.

VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2023 was held on Sunday morning with about 10,500 runners. The organizers awarded 134 prizes worth more than VND1.1 billion in both professional and amateur categories.
