VnExpress Marathon Hai Phong to commence in December 2023

VnExpress Marathon Hai Phong has four distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km, taking runners through iconic landmarks. Registration for the race is expected to open by the end of this month.

Nguyen Duy Kien of Hai Phong Runners Club considers this a key event in 2023 as it will take place in winter. "We have a schedule of tournaments for next year, and the most special is the VnExpress Marathon at home. Our group is gathering members to register for the race."

Tinh Thanh Runner Club in Hai Phong's Kien An District are also excited about the marathon.

Pham Phuong, the club's president, said about 90% of its members will register, and most for the half and full marathon.

Like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong has a large, fast-growing running community.

At VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight on November 26, Hai Phong had three running clubs competing for the team prize. Ultimately, 60 runners achieved good results.

Hai Phong has about 600 streets in seven downtown districts, which are favorable to create an impressive running route. Well preserved architectural works built from the French colonial period and famous culinary culture will add attraction to the race.

Hai Phong is easily reached via Hanoi – Hai Phong highway, or Cat Bi Airport which connects directly with Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Can Tho, Quy Nhon, Dong Hoi and some cities in the Central Highlands such as Pleiku and Buon Ma Thuot.

Like other tournaments in the VM system, VM Haiphong will offer runners full support in medical care, drinking water, and security on the route.
