Vietnam to host world-class billiards tournament in October

Matchroom Pool, the organizer, confirmed the dates Saturday.

It will be played at the Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium with 256 players, including the top 128 in the 9-ball world rankings, taking part.

It will carry prize money of $200,000, with the winner getting $30,000.

Vietnamese billiards fans will have the chance to watch some of the world’s top players like Joshua Filler, Ko Pin Yi, Shane Van Boening, Fedor Gorst, and Francisco Sanchez Ruiz as a world-class billiards tournament comes to their country for the first time.

British broadcaster Sky Sports will carry the event live.

Matchroom Pool will also organize the Vietnam Junior Open during the event on October 13-14 for players under 17 years of age with prize money of $10,000.
