Vietnam will vie for medals in four sports, women's beach handball, three-cushion billiards, muay Thai, and wushu at the 2022 World Games in the U.S.

The delegation includes Vietnam's number one cueist Tran Quyet Chien (billiards), Hoang Thi Phuong Giang, Duong Thuy Vi and Pham Quoc Khanh (wushu), Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat (muay Thai) and the women's beach handball team.

At the previous event hosted in Poland in 2017, Vietnam scored one gold medal thanks to muay athlete Bui Yen Ly.

This year's event will take place from July 7 to 17 in Birmingham, Alabama, the U.S., having been delayed one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It features 30 sports in 54 disciplines. Athletes from 110 nations will participate in this competition.

World Games is an international multi-sport event that includes sports that are not contested in the Olympics. The event is hosted every four years, usually one year after the Summer Olympics.

Although World Games comprise non-Olympic sports, it's still supported by the International Olympic Committee.
