The version called "ActiveSG Beta" introduced a balloting system for high-demand and peak-hour slots for eight sports, including badminton, basketball, hockey, pickleball, table tennis, volleyball and tennis, The Strait Times reported.
The system is open online to all ActiveSG members with Singapore digital ID (Singpass) and is available in facilities in Bishan, Choa Chu Kang, Clementi, Jurong and Pasir Ris, as well as primary and secondary schools.
If the system goes into official operation in the future, it will replace the current system, which is first come, first serve, for those who want to book a slot.
A SportSG spokesperson said that the beta version will run from March 1 to May 31.
The new system has drawn discussions on online forums, where people instructed each other on how to access the beta site and give feedback by logging in on Singapore government websites, and how to pay for slots.
This is an attempt from SportSG to prevent resellers from booking slots.
