Spain players lifted the Euro 2024 title and shared joy with their families and relatives at the Olympic Stadium, Berlin after the final whistle on July 14 (local time).
Yamal for the first time publicly announced his girlfriend Padilla, who is the same age as him. The 17-year-old midfielder gave his girlfriend both the championship medal and the title of best young player in Euro 2024 as he smiled to take a photo with her.
Padilla wore a Spain jersey with her boyfriend's name and shirt number on the back.
According to Marca, Padilla, who has more than 300,000 followers on TikTok, attended some games at Euro 2024 with Yamal's family.
Yamal had a historic tournament as he became the youngest player to play at a Euro tournament, the youngest player to make an assist and score a goal, the youngest player to play in a Euro final, the youngest player to make an assist in the final and the youngest to win the title.
The 17-year-old biggest moment was a stunning goal against France as he curled the ball from 25 m into the top corner and hit the inside edge of the post before going in, which equalized the score for Spain in the semifinals. Thanks to that, he broke Brazilian legend Pele's two records that stood for 68 years at a major tournament, being the youngest player to play and score in the semifinals of a Euro or World Cup.
In the final in Berlin, Yamal continued to shine with an assist for Nico Williams.
Yamal had four assists at Euro 2024, the most in a single Euro tournament alongside Steven Zuber in 2020, Aaron Ramsey, Eden Hazard in 2016 and Ljubinko Drulovic in 2000.
His father, Nasraoui, expected his son to become a greater player than the legendary Lionel Messi.
"You cannot imagine how proud I am of Yamal," he told British newspaper The Telegraph. "I always know that Yamal will achieve success. I have faith that he can do his best and be greater than Messi."
The young star will have a few weeks of vacation before joining Barcelona to prepare for the 2024-2025 season.
