Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president Madam Pang has addressed rumors about bringing coach Mano Polking back to manage Port FC, a club she previously owned.

Following his title win with Vietnamese club Cong An Ha Noi (CAHN) in the National Cup, coach Polking has reportedly caught the attention of several teams in the region, including Port FC, which currently play in the Thai League 1.

However, a representative for Madam Pang recently confirmed to the media that the rumors were false.

"The news reported by local media is incorrect. Coach Mano Polking is not our choice," the representative told Vietnamese media. "Port FC currently have coach Alexandre Gama, and coach Polking is managing a V. League team. We have never made an offer to him."

Polking also addressed the rumors, stating: "I think that team already have a coach, so we don’t need to talk about it anymore."

Polking has worked for many years at Thai League. He started managing Thai clubs in 2012, finishing as runner-up twice.

On the national team level, the Brazilian-born coach helped Thailand win the AFF Cup twice and secured a SEA Games silver medal with the U23 team. However, he was dismissed by FAT after a series of disappointing results, including a 1-2 loss to China in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.

In May 2024, Polking joined CAHN, where he has significantly improved the team's playing style.

After a season that met expectations, CAHN will face a challenging schedule in the upcoming season. The club will compete in five competitions: V.League, National Cup, National Super Cup, ASEAN Club Championship and AFC Champions League Two.
