Bac Giang, where major foreign companies, including Apple supplier Foxconn and Samsung Electronics supplier SI Flex, have manufacturing facilities, plans to build 75,000 social housing units by 2030.

The province, around 60 kilometers northeast of Hanoi, expects to have 104,200 workers requiring social housing by then.

The housing target is the second highest in the country behind only Binh Duong Province, the industrial hub of southern Vietnam.

In Bac Giang, 15 social housing projects are currently under development, but several are having difficulty getting licenses.

The province has six industrial parks and three more are planned to be built by 2025.

By 2030 it plans to have 29 industrial parks spread over 7,000 hectares and with 500,000 workers.
