Just $43 a night: Hue among Asia's 8 destinations with cheapest hotels

Udon Thani in Thailand, where the traditional Songkran Festival is scheduled to take place later this week, tops the list at $28.

It is followed by Surabaya in Indonesia at $39.

The other destinations are Kuching in Malaysia ($49), Iloilo in the Philippines ($50), Bengaluru in India ($55), Narita in Japan ($71), and Kaohsiung in Taiwan ($101).

To compile the list, Agoda analyzed the average room rates at tourist destinations in April and May based on its booking data between March 1 and 18.

Hue used to be the capital of the Nguyens, Vietnam's last royal dynasty (1802-1945) and is famed for its royal mausoleums and other historical structures.

Its royal tombs have become popular tourist attractions that receive scores of visitors.
