The event includes a combination of a talk about Maria Callas' life, exploring her highs and lows, and a mini-concert featuring highlights from some of her successful roles.

Scheduled for Jan. 13 at 8 p.m., the event will take place at Middle Cafe, located at 55 Ma May Street, Hoan Kiem District. Tickets are priced at VND300,000 ($12) per person. Tet festival art fair

The "Nghe Nghe Art Fair: Tet Festival" is scheduled to unfold this Saturday and Sunday. This special Lunar New Year edition aims to offer a space where like-minded friends can gather and celebrate the Tet Festival while continuing its mission to establish an art-making and art-playing community.

The event will showcase artworks that emphasize a connection to Vietnam. Featured products must meet criteria such as being creative, original, made in Vietnam, and demonstrating a commitment to traditional crafts and green practices.

Scheduled for Jan. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the event will be hosted at COMPLEX 01, situated at No. 29, Alley 31, Lane 167, Tay Son Street, Dong Da District. Admission to the event is free.

Vegan festival

The Vegan Festival will showcase a diverse array of vegan foods, products, and services while fostering a sense of community among individuals interested in or practicing veganism.

The festival aims to educate attendees on the ethical, environmental, and health aspects of a vegan lifestyle and supports local businesses.

The event is set to take place from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Jan. 12-14 at Thong Nhat Park, at 354A Le Duan Street, Dong Da District. Admission is free.

Concert tribute: John Coltrane - Blue train

"Blue Train" is a studio album by the American jazz tenor saxophonist John Coltrane. Recorded in November 1957 and released in January 1958 by Blue Note Records, the album is regarded as one of Coltrane's most significant and influential works, earning its place among the greatest jazz albums of all time.

French movie "Tchao Pantin" (So Long, Stooge)

French cinema rendez-vous is a new weekly event introducing the richness and diversity of French cinema by screening a variety of very different films. Screenings are held by French Cinema Rendez-vous and Institut français de HCMV.

"Tchao Pantin" (So Long, Stooge) follows Lambert, a retired alcoholic detective leading a detached life. His world changes when he befriends Bensoussan, an orphan drug dealer, resembling a father-son bond. Tragedy strikes when Bensoussan is murdered, prompting Lambert to seek justice with the help of Lola, a playboy girl intertwined with his life. The film delves into themes of companionship, loss, and the quest for justice amidst personal tragedy.

"Tchao Pantin" will be shown at Galaxy Cinema Mipec Long Bien, Mipec Long Bien Shopping Center, Long Bien District, on Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. Tickets cost VND75,000 ($3).
