"Smart move. Vietnam needs more people who can speak English."

"It's a good idea, but the focus needs to be on fluency in speaking, not the current "memorize your way to IELTS" which has led to profiteering bad actors, and a general talent drain in teachers. Establish reputable centers, don't push students into test preparation, highlight general English courses, don't take shortcuts, listen to educators, and we might get somewhere."

"That should be done 20 years ago (at least 10 years) already. Vietnam would be No.1 on top of Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia."

"Fantastic idea, would give the young workers better job prospects not just in Vietnam but across much of the world."
William George
"Very ambitious proposal, but I really like the idea. English is indispensable and prevalent."
Mensen Ernst
"Another idea would be to improve access to the languages of our main trading partners - China, Japan and Korea... English is overrated."

"It would make more sense to diversify and set some regions targets to learn Japanese, Chinese..., even Indian would be good, seems like a growing tourist market."

"The next century all things will revolve around China as America decline in the scientific world. So it doesn't make sense to make English as second language."

"I think Chinese education for entire population is more beneficial for Vietnam. English speaking countries are becoming weaker and irrelevant nowadays. China is the future."
