An area of 25 ha of the beach along Thuy Van Street will be developed into a complex that includes a park, an underground parking lot, a square, and shops serving snacks and drink, the city said in a new proposal.
If approved by Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, the city will implement the plan in 2027.
It estimates the cost at VND2 trillion (US$83 million).
In April, Vung Tau City launched a campaign to clean up Bai Sau, removing all illegal makeshift stores and eateries to give back open space to beachgoers.
Located two hours southeast of HCMC, Ba Ria – Vung Tau attracted 7 million visitors in the first half this year, up 17% against the same period last year.
