A delivery man in HCMC was arrested after snatching a phone from a Turkish woman while he was transporting goods for a company.

Nguyen Huu Truong, 38, was arrested for the theft by HCMC police on Thursday.

Bukun, 29, a teacher from Turkey, was walking on Thong Nhat Street of Go Vap District on August 29 when her iPhone 13 was snatched by a man riding a motorbike. Bukun called for help and tried to chase after the man, but failed.

Camera footage revealed that the suspect was wearing a delivery service uniform, with the logo of Ahamove on it.

Police officers later raided a house in District 12 to arrest Truong.

Truong admitted he was an employee of Ahamove, and on the way to deliver goods, he snatched the phone from the victim. He later sold the phone online for VND2.8 million ($115.58).

The police have returned the phone to Bukun.
