Patient killed as ambulance turns turtle

At around 3 p.m. Nguyen Tan Hoang, 50, was driving the ambulance carrying Tran Thi Cuc, 71, from the Tuy Phong District medical center in Binh Thuan to the province general hospital for emergency treatment.

There were also one nurse and three of Cuc’s family members.

While on National Highway 1 in Bac Binh District, the ambulance suddenly plowed into the median strip, veered out of control rammed the gate of a house.

After hitting the gate it flipped over and ended up in the yard.

Local residents rushed over, righted the vehicle and rescued the passengers.

But tragically Cuc died in the accident.

The five others suffered various degrees of injuries.

Police are looking into the cause of the accident.
