Three returnees from France are Vietnam's latest Covid-19 cases, taking the national tally to 1,206, the Ministry of Health confirmed Wednesday evening.

"Patient 1204" is a 65-year old woman from the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, "patient 1205" is a 66-year-old man from the central province of Phu Yen, and "patient 1206" is a 57-year-old woman from Ho Chi Minh City.

All three patients landed October 21 at HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Vietnam Airlines flight VN5010 and were quarantined in Ba Ria – Vung Tau. Test results showed Tuesday that they are positive for the virus and they are being treated at a medical center in the province’s Long Dien District.

An Israeli expert was confirmed positive for the virus in the morning. Four recoveries were announced Wednesday afternoon.

Of the national tally of 1,206, 1,069 have recovered and the death toll stays at 35.

Vietnam has gone over two months without community transmission of the novel coronavirus.

The active patients are all in stable condition and 29 have tested negative for the virus at least once.

The pandemic has claimed 1.2 million lives in the world so far.
