Floods and landslides killed three people and left three others missing in the northern and central regions over the past two days, according to the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention.

Due to weather patterns caused by a tropical depression, several Vietnamese regions have experienced heavy rains in the days.

In northern Vietnam, rain levels in certain areas of Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Ha Nam and Yen Bai reached between 150-300 mm from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Landslides also hit Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Hoa Binh, with thousands of cubic meters of rubble tumbling down from mountains, hills, slopes and cliffs.
