Ministry of Public Security spokesman To An Xo said Monday that authorities are looking for the remaining attackers.
On Sunday morning an unidentified group of people used guns to attack the offices of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur Commune People's Committees in Cu Kuin District, resulting in several deaths, the ministry said.
By evening 16 suspects were arrested and two hostages were rescued. A number of weapons, including guns, were seized from the suspects.

The government will pay the families of four police officers killed in the attack compensation of VND100 million (US$4,260) each.
The two injured policemen will receive VND50 million each.
Security has been relaxed in the two communes and local residents have been allowed to resume normal activities.
A 55-year-old woman who lives 200 meters from the Ea Ktur Commune People's Committee office said she and her neighbors were asked to stay home and closed all doors on Sunday morning, but from Monday, they could move around freely.
The military has been deployed in all communes in Cu Kuin District.
