National Assembly's vice chairman takes over after chairman's dismissal

Standing vice chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man will run the NA in place of Vuong Dinh Hue, who was dismissed from his position as chairman on Thursday.

A Thursday extraordinary NA session dismissed Hue from his position as the NA chairman, six days after the Communist Party's Central Committee approved for him o be relieved of his duty per personal request.

In place of Hue, Man will run the NA and the NA Standing Committee, the committee said.

Man, 62, has a PhD in Economics. He held several positions in the Central Party Committee, the Politburo and the NA.

Before he became the NA vice chairman in April 2021, Man used to be chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, secretary of the Can Tho Party Committee, and chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
