Man arrested for pawning Porsche he hires

Police in the central Thua Thien Hue-Province have arrested a man who rented a Porsche which he later pawned for VND4 billion ($170,584).

Le Quang Vu, 40, is under investigation for "abuse of trust to appropriate property," the police announced Friday.

According to the police, Vu rented a Porsche from Nguyen Hoang Sang, 33, in Hue on December 20, 2021, and then later, pawned the vehicle for VND4 billion.

He used part of the money to pay off loans and spent the rest on other personal expenses

As Vu failed to return the car on the due date, Sang found out his car had been pawned so he reported it to the police.
