Sjahrial Hery, 61, was found dead Sunday night in the toilet by a housekeeping staff at the Indochina Riverside Towers in Hai Chau District.
The staff entered the 12th floor apartment after she knocked on the door and received no response.
Hery was director of a wood trading company and had lived at the rental apartment building for several years. Recently, his health had deteriorated and he frequently went to the hospital for treatment, initial investigations found.
Da Nang police said the body of the deceased was being kept at the city’s mortuary and local authorities were working with the Embassy of Indonesia in Vietnam to notify the next of kin, media reports said.
An autopsy will be carried out to identify the cause of the death.
Da Nang, Vietnam’s third largest city, is one of the most visited destinations in the country, with 2.87 million foreigners touching down last year, a 23.3 percent jump from a year ago.
