Falling tree kills man in Saigon

The 54-year-old man was parking his motorbike under the tree during a thunderstorm at around 7 p.m. when the tree was uprooted and fell onto him.

There was little traffic at the time and no one else was hurt. The local tree management unit then cut the tree into small pieces to clear the area, retrieving the victim and his motorbike.

Thunderstorms were recorded in many HCMC districts on Tuesday evening. More heavy rains are forecast until the end of the month.
