Heavy rains that lashed Bao Loc for over an hour on Sunday afternoon left many parts of the city, a neighbor of Da Lat's, flooded.

The downpours that started at around 4 p.m. submerged many streets under a meter of water.

Water flowing through Ha Giang Street swept a motorcyclist away. The rider was rescued by locals but not the vehicle.

The waters entered houses and caused much damage.

According to the Hydro-Meteorological Station of Lam Dong Province, home to Bao Loc and Da Lat, rains and thunderstorms will continue in Bao Loc on Monday, and there will be more than 66 mm of precipitation between 3 p.m and 7 p.m.

It also warned about flash floods and landslides.

Situated on the Di Linh Plateau at an altitude of 800-1,000 m above sea level, Bao Loc spreads over more than 232 sq.km and had a population of 160,000 as of 2019.

In Da Lat, one of Vietnam’s top tourist destinations, a low pressure system brought half an hour of heavy rains on June 23 that severely flooded many roads, felled trees, stalled cars, and caused water to flow into people's houses.
