Drunk woman swallows spoon at party

Nguyen Thanh Cong, deputy head of the endoscopy and functional exploration department of the Lac Viet Friendship Hospital, on Thursday said the woman, unnamed, was hungry after drinking, so she took a plastic spoon and swallowed it.

The next morning, she felt that something was stuck in the throat, and upon inspection of security cameras at the party, she discovered that she had swallowed a spoon by mistake and went to the hospital.

She was subsequently put under anesthetics and doctors took the spoon out. The spoon, 15 cm long and 2 cm wide, was thankfully soft, so it did not damage her tissue, Cong said.
