The largest drug bust Vietnam's aviation has ever seen uncovered 179 kg of MDMA being trafficked from Germany.

"There were reports saying there would be a large amount of drugs transported from Germany to Vietnam through the Noi Bai Airport," a representative of the Hanoi Customs Drug Prevention Team said Monday.

Following such reports, customs and police authorities, launched a campaign to bust the case. By June 4, the team had managed to have arrested four people and had seized 179 kg of MDMA – an illicit "party" substance often known as "Molly" or "Ecstasy" – hidden inside packages and food cans.

An investigation is ongoing.

The identities of the suspects and their exact alleged crimes have not been announced.
