At 33, Prince Mateen is a polo enthusiast who represented Brunei in the 2017 and 2019 SEA Games, He was named one of Asia’s most eligible bachelors by Tatler magazine in 2016.
Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah, 30, an entrepreneur in the cultural tourism sector, holds a degree from the University of Bath in the U.K. She is well-connected in Brunei’s royal circles, as her grandfather Pehin Dato Isa was a prominent government advisor during the 1960s and 1970s, and her brother Danial Deen Isa-Kalebic is a close friend of Prince Mateen.
Her sister-in-law Janetira Attaskulchai Deen is associated with Thailand’s Attaskulchai family, owners of the Betagen yogurt brand.
The couple’s wedding, which took place from Jan. 7-16 in Bandar Seri Begawan, was attended by about 5,000 guests, including international dignitaries.
