A bunch of Chinese customers got into a pitched battle with security guards at a bar in HCMC's District 1 on early Sunday morning after being told to leave.

According to the police, there was a quarrel inside the bar on Thu Khoa Huan Street between the 10-strong Chinese group and another group of customers.

As it escalated, guards instructed the Chinese to leave.

But some of them, including both men and women, attacked the guards instead of heading for the exit.

Around 10 guards gathered and fought back against the Chinese.

A video that emerged later on social media shows the two groups coming out onto the street and continuing to fight, with some of the Chinese carrying sticks in hand.

Witnesses said some passers-by were also attacked.

The police are investigating.
