The authorities of Thanh Khe District made the decision to fine and suspend Kangzin beauty salon, which is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, on Monday for five violations.
Police inspected the facility on August 12 when a female staff member was performing a technique to stretch the face skin for a customer.
That staff later admitted she was a janitor at the salon and had no practicing certificate.
For this violation, Kangzin was fined VND50 million.
Other violations found at the facility were failing to collect hazardous waste as regulated; using products with unclear origin; providing customers with beauty services it had not been granted permission to carry out; and using medicine and equipment that are only allowed at medical facilities specialized in beauty treatment.
The salon is also suspended for 22 months and 15 days.
Its director, Ngo Duc Tung, has had his cosmetology license revoked for three months.
