VnExpress Marathon Hue offers 15% discount for International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women's Day and to commemorate the liberation month of Thua Thien-Hue Province, the organizing committee is offering a discount on race tickets for runners participating in the VnExpress Marathon Hue from March 6 to 8.

The marathon's registration portal is in the Late stage. With the discount, the ticket prices will be reduced to VND807.500 for 5 km, VND977,500 for 10 km, VND1.232 million for 21 km, and VND1.572 million for 42 km.

The 4th season of the VnExpress Marathon Hue will kick off on April 21, with an expected scale of 11,000 participants. This year, the race routes have been adjusted to create a different feel compared to previous seasons. The starting point for all four distances will be on Le Duan Street, near Nha Do Gate, and the finish line is near the Quang Duc Gate.

The official race jersey features two main colors: purple and pink. The purple hue draws inspiration from the sunset's reflection on the blue enamel patterns found in Hue's palaces, while the pink hue reflects the blossoming parasol tree flowers seen along the former citadel streets. The pattern of the shirt is stylized from the lines on the Nhat Binh traditional dress, a precious heritage of the ancient capital.

For the first time at the Hue marathon, VnExpress Marathon has partnered with Newton to introduce microfiber fabric jerseys with high bacteria resistance and odor control. According to the manufacturer, the products maintain softness, have a long lifespan, and do not lose shape or color when used properly.

After three seasons, VnExpress Marathon Hue has become a major sports event, a festival for running enthusiasts, locals, and tourists.

In 2023, the event attracted 10,500 participants, doubling the figures from the previous seasons. With its stunning routes and favorable weather conditions, many runners achieved personal bests, contributing to the overall surge in athletic performance. A total of 41 runners completed the 42 km distance in under three hours (sub3). Former national team athletes, Nguyen Van Lai and Nguyen Thi Binh, clinched the titles in the male and female categories, respectively. Over the three days of the event, the province welcomed approximately 32,500 visitors, generating revenue of around VND55.5 billion.

The leaders of Thua Thien-Hue stated that they have many plans to collaborate with the organizers to promote the event. Hue will focus on investing in infrastructure, transportation, and accommodation to support the organization and ensure the event's safety.

This year, VnExpress Marathon will send the results of runners participating in the 42 km distance of all races to Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda. The results will be ranked on the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings. Eligible athletes from various age groups will be invited to participate in the 2025 World Championships. The achievement is based on the fastest time in a VnExpress Marathon tournament.
