Streaming service Netflix announced that the Vietnamese rom-com blockbuster ‘Gai Gia Lam Chieu V’ (Camellia Sisters) would be available in 190 countries and territories from June 10.

The movie tells the story of three Ly sisters reuniting in the wealthy palace they grew up in, as the secrets in their family begin to unfold.

It was made with one of the highest budgets, of around VND45 billion ($2 million), in Vietnam.

Bao Nhan, its director, said about the film: "We enhanced the drama and lessened comedy elements to add more depth to the story."

'Camellia Sisters', which opened in cinemas on March 12, earned VND55.4 billion, according to Box Office Vietnam.

Netflix launched its Vietnamese language website in October 2019.

It now has 193 million subscribers in over 190 economies.
