Yang, 65, recently won the Best Supporting Actress award at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards for her role in the family drama "Yen and Ai-Lee", which was featured in SGIFF's lineup. The film premiered on December 1 at the National Museum of Singapore, where Yang was also honored with the Screen Icon Award.
Lee, a celebrated actor known for his performances in Tsai Ming-liang’s films, received the Screen Icon Award earlier during SGIFF’s opening ceremony on Nov. 28 at Capitol Theatre. He stars in "Stranger Eyes" by Singaporean director Yeo Siew Hua, the first Singaporean film to compete at the Venice Film Festival, which opened SGIFF this year.
The two veteran actors, who previously worked together on Tsai’s 1994 classic "Vive L’Amour", reunited on Nov. 30 for a dialogue session to reflect on their collaboration and share insights into their acting careers.
