Go Hyun Jung, an actress and Miss Korea 1989 runner-up, has openly reflected on her prolonged separation from her two children following her divorce from Samsung heir Chung Yong Jin.

The couple, married in 1995, parted ways in 2003, resulting in Go losing custody of their children, according to Nate.

On Sept. 17, Go shared heartfelt photos on her Instagram, depicting a reunion with her children, which illustrated the emotional distance that had grown between them over the years.

In a 2016 interview with Chosun Biz, she shared her sadness over their early separation: "We parted ways when they were just 6 and 4 years old, a memory that remains vivid for me. Now that they're older, it's not that I can't meet them; rather, I worry they might feel uneasy around me."

According to Seoul Shinmun, Go launched her YouTube channel in May and has been subtly sharing updates about her children. She said: "I got a call that really surprised me. They said they liked watching the 'Fairy Jae Hyung' videos and asked if I could appear in them more often," indicating her interactions with her children.

She once disclosed on her YouTube channel that she frequently felt lonely during her marriage to Chung, the grandson of Samsung’s founder Lee Byung Chul. Go, 53, and Chung, 56, first encountered each other by chance in New York, where Chung assisted Go in finding her seat at the Winter Garden Theatre because she was not fluent in English, as reported by Korea JoongAng Daily.

Osen reported that her former in-laws disapproved of her due to her humble family origins. Following the divorce, there were speculations that Chung’s family scorned Go and deliberately spoke English around her, as noted by Korea Times. However, Go has refuted these allegations in a television interview.

After her divorce from Chung, Go regained her status as one of South Korea's premier actresses. She ascended to become the highest-paid actress in the nation after starring in the 2009 TV series "Queen Seondeok." Her most recent project is the 2023 web series "Mask Girl."

Chung went on to marry flutist Han Ji Hee, the daughter of former Korean Air vice president Han Sang Bum, in 2011, according to The Chosun Daily.
