Koo mentioned that there are no current plans but expressed a desire to work with Lee again in the future.

Fans on Weibo reminisced about the 1990s and were excited to see the duo together again. Comments included, "After nearly 30 years, it's still moving to see them together," "Carman Lee looks stunning at nearly 60," and "I’m about to cry; she is the most beautiful Xiao Long Nu in my heart."

According to Sina, there have been occasional rumours about a romantic relationship between them over the years, but Lee has denied these claims.

Lee, 58, and Koo, 54, starred as Xiao Long Nu and Yang Guo in the 1995 adaptation of "The Return of the Condor Heroes," where their characters addressed each other as "Gu Gu" and "Guo Er." The series received widespread acclaim across Asia.

The pair are reported to be single at the moment.

Lee recently addressed criticism about being single and child-free at 58, as well as her struggle with depression, Sinchew reported. Meanwhile, Koo is facing a lawsuit from a business associate over allegations of failing to repay a HK$8.3 million (US$1.1 million) loan.
