The photos quickly garnered attention from fans on Weibo, with comments such as "We hope to bump into them here," "The photos are so romantic," "Time flies, but their love stays strong," and "Seeing Tony and Carina reminds me to appreciate my own loved ones."
The couple, who started dating in 1989, had a Buddhist wedding ceremony in Bhutan in 2008, with over 100 guests attending the lavish event, which cost more than HK$30 million (about US$3.8 million). Tony Leung said Carina Lau handled most of the wedding planning, creating a ceremony that was both solemn and heartfelt.
Despite being together for decades, the couple chose not to have children. Due to their contrasting lifestyles, they were often seen as an "unlikely pair" by the public, according to Ifeng. While Tony Leung leads a quiet life and avoids late-night outings, Carina Lau enjoys social gatherings and frequently attends business and entertainment events.

In a 2016 interview on Hunan TV, when asked about the sacrifices she made for her marriage, Carina Lau said, "My husband accepts my flaws too. People often complain about tolerating their spouse, but in reality, they are also enduring you."
After their trip to Bhutan, Tony Leung is set to serve as the jury president at the Tokyo International Film Festival in late October, while Carina Lau will be preparing for her role in the play "The Truth About Lying," which will be performed in December at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
