“The Condor Heroes” actor Lee Lung Kei, 74, has said that he has in fact faced some disapproval from the family of his girlfriend, Chris Wong, due to their age difference.

She’s 37 years his junior.

Chris Wong's father had even urged her to break up with Lee, threatening to disinherit her from the family's wealth, according to Lee.

However, Wong remained steadfast and committed in the relationship, although her family still struggles to fully accept their future son-in-law, Lee said.

Addressing the media in early January, the veteran actor denied reports that he had transferred his assets - including seven real estate properties - to his fiancée.

He clarified that he had transferred some property to his ex-wife, but his current fiancée was not holding any assets in his name.

Lee Lung Kei also refuted the rumor that his fiancée used to work as a bar hostess. He emphasized her family's affluence, mentioning that Wong moved to the US to study at the age of 10, and was trained in piano, painting, and calligraphy from a very young age.

Additionally, the actor also denied the rumor that his stepchildren have accused Chris Wong of being greedy, vying for Lee’s money and estates. On the contrary, Lee said his children have even thanked Wong for taking care of their father.

Lee also stated that his fiancée has never regretted their engagement.

The couple originally planned to get married by the end of 2023, but postponed the plan due to Wong’s father’s passing last year.

Meanwhile, Wong said in an interview that she is financially independent, her family owns a large factory in Foshan, and she herself owns properties and works in the aircraft industry.

Lee met Wong at the age of 66.

As a renowned actor, works throughout Lee’s prolific career include "The Condor Heroes," "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer," "Journey to the West," and "Forensic Heroes." He married his first wife in the 1970s and had three children with her, all of whom are older than Wong.
