As reported by the Daily Mail, the study was conducted by Dr. Julian De Silva, a surgeon at London’s Center for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery. It employed advanced computerized facial mapping techniques to analyze symmetry, ratios, and proportions, allowing researchers to quantify physical attractiveness.
"These brand-new computer mapping techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what makes someone physically beautiful, and the technology is also useful when planning patients’ surgery," Dr. De Silva explained.
The golden ratio, or Phi, was first devised by the ancient Greeks and famously applied by Leonardo da Vinci in his "Vitruvian Man" painting. The formula measures facial harmony by comparing lengths and widths of key facial segments, including the forehead to eyes, eyes to nose, and nose to chin. The closer a face or body aligns with the ratio 1.618 (Phi number), the more aesthetically pleasing it is considered.
According to Dr. De Silva, Stone’s features measure 94.72% according to the golden ratio.
"She came top because of her consistent excellence across all the golden tatio elements," said the surgeon.
Stone is followed by Zendaya (94.37%), Freida Pinto (94.34%), and Vanessa Kirby (94.31%). Fifth place goes to Jenna Ortega with 93.91%, followed by singer Olivia Rodrigo (93.71%), Margot Robbie (93.43%), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (93.41%), Tang Wei (93.08%), and singer Beyoncé in 10th with 92.4%.
According to The Sun, the same study, conducted by Dr. De Silva last year, named actress Anya Taylor-Joy the most beautiful woman.
