Mingpao reports that according to Lee’s wife, the actor had been suffering from Pemphigus, an autoimmune disorder that causes blistering on the epidermis, leading to infections and a weakened immune system. He succumbed to the disease in the hospital on Sunday after a three-month struggle.

In the latter part of his career, Lee assumed supporting roles in television productions, with his final appearance in the TVB series "Sinister Beings 2," which debuted in April.

Fans on movie forums and social media have been sharing their condolences, recognizing Lee as a memorable figure in Hong Kong cinema. A fan commented on Weibo: "I don’t remember his name, but his image is deeply etched in my memory."

"A screen master, he appeared in many classic films," another fan remarked.

One poignant tribute read: "May he not have to suffer from illness in the next life."

Lee was not only an actor but also a master of Wing Chun boxing. He began his career as a martial arts instructor and later transitioned into acting, often showcasing his kung fu skills in both leading and supporting roles throughout the 1970s and 1980s in various Asian television dramas.
