Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu was laid to rest at Chin Pao San Cemetery on Saturday, as her family and relatives braved the rain to pay their final respects.

Her husband, South Korean DJ Koo, her mother, and her two children buried her ashes at the cemetery in New Taipei, according to Next Apple.

DJ Koo, dressed in a black suit, appeared visibly frail and emotional as he carried Barbie Hsu's ashes to the burial site, Dimsum Daily reported.

Dee Hsu, the late actress's younger sister, remained by their mother's side to offer comfort and support.

Following traditional customs, Barbie Hsu's mother and other older family members stayed in the car during the proceedings, as they are traditionally discouraged from attending burials.

Only DJ Koo and Mike Hsu, Dee Hsu's husband, accompanied the ashes to their final resting place.

Barbie Hsu's ex-husband, businessman Wang Xiaofei, was not invited to the funeral. After her passing, Wang continued to care for their two children.

Hsu, famous for her roles in "Meteor Garden," "Mars," and "Summer’s Desire," died of influenza-induced pneumonia at age 49 while vacationing in Japan. Her passing was confirmed by her family on Feb. 3.

She and Wang, who married in 2011, separated due to "irreconcilable differences" and announced their divorce in 2021.

Hsu remarried South Korean musician DJ Koo, 56, in Feb. 2022, while Wang married 26-year-old online influencer Mandy Ma in May 2024.

Despite their new marital statuses, tension between Hsu and Wang persisted, including charges of infidelity and physical abuse by Hsu against Wang, and allegations by Wang of Hsu using his credit card for extravagant purchases for DJ Koo.
