According to Sports Chosun, the source shared with the South Korean actress Kim Sae Ron. Photo from Kim's Instagrammedia: "Her [Kim’s] health deteriorated to the point where she was seen turning white while practicing [for a film project]."

"In the end, after consultation with the production team, she decided to drop out."

In addition to health issues, Kim faced financial difficulties. In 2022, she was involved in a drunk driving accident, colliding with a guardrail and transformer, as reported by The Korea Times. She received a fine of 20 million won (US$13,875) and subsequently lost all her advertising and film contracts, including a role in Netflix’s "Bloodhounds."

According to her attorney, Kim had no significant assets at the time of the accident, as all her earnings were dedicated to her family’s living expenses. She was also required to compensate the affected brands, leaving her facing financial challenges, taking on multiple part-time jobs under the alias Kim Ah Im for job applications. Her management company provided her with financial support to manage the crisis but ultimately chose not to renew her contract.

Additionally, public backlash significantly hindered her efforts to secure a film project despite her numerous accolades, including being the youngest actress ever nominated for Best Actress at South Korea’s prestigious Baeksang Awards at age 14.

Kim was discovered deceased at her Seoul home on Sunday by a friend. Local police reported no signs of foul play.

Her wake has been arranged at the Seoul Asan Hospital funeral hall, according to Chosun Biz. The funeral procession is scheduled for 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
