K-ICM’s latest music video, 'Chim Quy Trong Long' (Caged Bird), will compete for ‘Best Southeast Asia Act’ at MTV EMA 2021.

The singer, representing Vietnam at MTV Europe Music Awards 2021, will compete with other artists from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

K-ICM previously won Favourite Artist and Best Music Video at MTV Fan Choice 2021 for the MV, released on July 12 and had ranked No. 5 on the list of trending videos on YouTube in Vietnam shortly after hitting the video platform.

The video was also nominated for Best Music Video at Asian Television Awards (ATA) earlier this year.

K-ICM, birth name Nguyen Bao Khanh, was born in southern Soc Trang Province before starting his music career in Ho Chi Minh City in 2017.

MTV EMA is an event organized by MTV Networks Europe and hosted by different European countries annually. Although the prize seeks to recognize talents from across Europe, the event also honors global artists and now presents awards to musicians worldwide.

Last year, Vietnamese singer Jack won "Best Southeast Asia Act".
